General Fire Equipment Company was founded in 1975 as a family owned and operated business to be a wholesale distributor of portable fire extinguishers and safety equipment. Since those early days, General Fire Equipment has added a complete service division with more than thirty years in dealing with all levels of fire protection services to companies of all sizes. General Fire Equipment has become the complete source for all fire protection needs in Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, Southern New Jersey and Northern Maryland.
Our state-of-the-art warehouse in suburban Philadelphia is designed with customer service in mind. Our extensive access to inventory from all manufacturers enables us to ship your order often immediately across the country or to anywhere in the world. Our facility is DOT certified for hydrostatic testing of all high and low pressure cylinders.
We have an extensive fleet of mobile service vehicles with certified technicians capable of servicing all makes and models of fire extinguishers on-site. Our fire suppression system technicians are certified to design, install and service all types of fire suppression systems including fire alarms and sprinklers. Technicians will respond day or night within hours of an emergency.
Our position as a certified woman owned enterprise puts us in a unique circumstance to better serve our customers. As a member of the National Association Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), & PA Fire Equipment Distributor (PAFED), we recognize the fact that your requirements must be met completely and without delay.
